I did a search for my website today, and made a disturbnig discovery. Google has been stalking me.
When I click on “related links”, it brings up a whole series of sites that I’ve posted to, built, or even just read. It’s crazy. Try it.
Also, it turns out some space development group decided to catalogue my [...]

Attack of the killer Snow from Mars
January 29th, 2001 · No Comments · Observations
A friend of mine sent me this today, a digital picture of the snow in in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This pic was taken
on my birthday, and I think does a good job of illustrating the reason I’d prefer to stay inside all winter long.
It’s over top of minivans! It’s crazy!

Happy Birthday to Me
January 28th, 2001 · No Comments · Uncategorized
I’ve just got back from a night of movies and dancing, and it’s officially my
birthday. Happy day!
I’m 24. Wow. I’ve heard all kinds of things about how being 24 rocks, so
maybe this is going to be an even more amazing year than it’s already begun
to look like it’ll be.
I’m not very introspective this evening. [...]

Jay’s Magical Exploding PC
January 27th, 2001 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Yesterday evening I got home from work, settled down at my computer to check
my mail, and noted with some curiosity that the power was off, which I hadn’t
remembered doing the night before. (I generally leave my PC running
overnight. It’s not that I enjoy consuming more power than nescessary, it’s
because I often start renderings overnight, and [...]

Many thanks to the Apple 1984 commercial, and Despair inc.
Today, we celebrate the first glorious anniversary of the Information
Purification Directives. We have created, for the first time in all history,
a garden of pure ideology. Where each worker may bloom secure from the pests
of contradictory and confusing truths. Our Unification of Thought is more
powerful a weapon [...]

Artificial Intelligence

I saw the preview trailer for AI again this evening, and it’s got me all
excited. I’m worried that Speilberg is going to mess everything up, but some
part of me thinks he might be able to pull it off. He’s a much better
director than most in hollywood these days, except every now and then he
likes to [...]

Terrifying dream
January 24th, 2001 · No Comments · Observations
I had a weird scary dream last night, I woke up at 3:00am in a sweat,
absolutely terrified.
I dreamt I was in my parents house, walking around a corner from a hallway
into the living room, while being blown by a cold wind. I saw the shadow of
an old woman in a rocking chair. When I got [...]
Two new pictures

There’s two new pictures up on the left hand side. One is of another one of
my Vaxes on the living room floor of my old apartment.
The second is one of me at the MIT Media Labs. I was absolutley thrilled to
be there, and I was having an awesome good time, but I have to tell [...]

Something to ponder

A riddle: What happens when you aren’t watching what you’re doing, and the
three-week old milk carton that you’re rinsing out in the sink has a nozzle
that fits perfectly over the faucet ring, which causes it to balloon outwards
to twice the size of a normal milk carton?
Something has to give. Luckily, it burst all over me, [...]
