I saw the preview trailer for AI again this evening, and it’s got me all
excited. I’m worried that Speilberg is going to mess everything up, but some
part of me thinks he might be able to pull it off. He’s a much better
director than most in hollywood these days, except every now and then he
likes to create pointlessly “hollywood” films and I hope he doesn’t take any
liberties with Kubrick’s idea.

Halley Joel Osment is in it, though, and it strikes me that he’s a better
actor (where does he find the time to go to school between all the movies
he’s been in lately) than the majority of people in the business who are
three or four times his age.

So with two overacheivers, this film might be interesting. I’m most excited
about seeing Chris Cunningham’s design influences, though. Should be very
very cool.
