For my demo reel

March 2nd, 2001 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So, I wanted to make something that would -really- knock people out on my demo reel, something that really brought that kind of classic “Pizzaz” that so exemplified the works of pioneering spirits in the early 80s computer graphics scene.

chromesphere

This highly reflective chrome sphere, representing man’s ever-lasting search for meaning without rather than within, floats shadowlessly above a checkerboard, the ultimate symbol of segregation and divided territory.

What it all really means, when you put it together, is up to you, the viewer. It was my solely my intention to create a striking image from which to draw your own conclusions, not to impose myself on you as a guide.

(The astute observer will notice the twin light sources, from above, and below, representing any number of opposing forces. This is the default lighting in 3DSMax.)
