So it turns out that your choice of pens doesn’t seem to make much impact in
your actual drawing ability. They -do- however seem able to help you strike
up conversations with the pretty cashier in the art store. 
Mark knows who I’m talking about. The only person on earth who can enthrall
me with a lecture on adhesive sprays and matte finishes: Crazy artist girl.
There’s just something about a girl who goes to work with paint in her hair,
smelling of turpentine and mineral spirits that makes my teeth itch. (Rarrr,
turpentine!)
