My old Jacket

September 5th, 2001 · No Comments · Uncategorized

It’s cold enough now here in Ottawa for me to feel a compulsion to don my old
green jacket and zip it halfway up… all the way when it’s -really- cold.
Nonetheless, today I noticed peculiar smell wafting from it’s leathery
depths.

My mom’s been trying to convince me to dump it for a while, she’s been trying
to push me into getting a nice blue one she saw out shopping the other day. I
think it’ll take a blessed miracle to pry this jacket from my hands.

It’s not particularly lucky, but it feels like an old friend, and it’s the
first ever peice of cool clothing that I bought with money that I’d earned
with a real career job.

So rather than chuck it, maybe I’ll just take it to the cleaner’s for the
umpteenth time, and see what they can do. I -love- my jacket. I don’t think
I’ll ever stop wearing it. It’s only 7 or 8 years old… so it’s practically
still new!
