So I went to a music trader store in Winnipeg yesterday afternoon with the
intention of picking 5 CDs that I wouldn’t normally buy, so I could maybe
discover something that nobody else had heard much of yet.

The CD’s I picked “randomly” are:

• Mogwai : Young Team, which turned out to be pretty cool. It’s kindof
  like… ambient rock. Just guitar and base and drums. And they have a cool
  name.

• Mojave 3 : Excuses for Travellers, which I’ve known about for a while.
  It’s really beautiful and mellow and almost depressing. I’m all annoyed
  because Vicki Wong’s known about them forever. Which is also the case with;

• The Magnetic Feilds: The Charm of the Highway Strip, which came highly
  recommended by Mark, too. Very cool so far.

• Gavin Froome: Post + Beam, got extra kudos because there’s a subway on
  the cover. I find it kindof repetitive and unexciting, though.

• Shirley Bassey: Diamonds are Forever, is AWESOME. Shirley Bassey is
  famous for singing a bunch of the James Bond themes, and she has a -VOICE-.
  It’s wicked cool.
