I caught a Shakira video on MuchMusic this evening, and couldn’t help but
notice that the song is a complete and utter ripoff of the Bangles’ Eternal
Flame. And just to prove it, I’m working on a mix that combines both of them,
that I’ll post.
Meanwhile, download them both and give them a listen. It’s so obvious. You
can swap lines back and forth with no trouble at all.
That sort of regurgitation of pop music really annoys me. I suppose I could
have just changed the channel, but it’s the principle of the thing that
annoys me. Where’s the nod to the Bangles for ripping them off?
