I was talking earlier in the day with a friend at work about how I used to
set up my projector and stream winamp plugin video through it at parties…
and this evening when I got home (I was supposed to be at a party but I felt
all blah. There’s a cold going around the office and rather than risk getting
it, I’m trying to get some R&R. I feel bad about not attending though) I
ended up plugging my computer into my 52″ TV on a lark and giving the new
plugin, MilkDrop, a whirl.
It’s a pretty mindbending experience. Milkdrop is fantastic at recognising
beats and changes in tone during songs, and I watched, fascinated, as it kept
changing patterns over and over and over. I don’t know how many things it
knows how to do, but it kept me entertained for a half hour and never seemed
to repeat.
Now I have to get people over to my place, and start a cult of music-
watchers.
But before that, I have to get some sleep!
