The Mailman’s Children and The Harlots

September 15th, 2002 · 3 Comments · Uncategorized

So, I went out with a gang for the first time in weeks tonight, and made up
for what I was missing in spades.

The first band we went out to see at the Pyramid were The Mailman’s Children
which the drummer, Frantic Films accountant Eddie Vesely invited us to check
out. It was their new CD release party, and the music was great and the crowd
was pretty big and friendly. I got to know some of my co-workers much better,
and ended up coming home with an autographed copy of the CD.

Afterwards we went to the Zoo, and the place was -rocking- with the sounds of
The Harlots, who were a fantastic and totaly upbeat band with great lyrics,
catchy tunes, and amazng stage presence. I hope their CD is as good as their
live show, because they rocked and I’m going out to get their CD tomorrow.

There’s something in the Water in Winnipeg that makes bands super talented, I
think. :)

I saw them too that night and they kicked ass! I loved Bathroom Floor as always.
I hear they are writing new shit and in the studio again. Apparently they are recording at Private Ear and back to the original line up: Joe C Joe P Eric Eddie. Can’t Wait!

WERE you guys at any of their KING’S HEAD shows in WPG when they did a couple of 3 – Set nights? That topped it all. They threw in all kinds of cool covers with their original shit.

I wish these dudes were all over the radio. I saw them play a college in kelowna a couple of years ago but they usually only Play big cities now. Too bad. I am jacked because I hear they are recording again in Winnipeg this year. Rock on baby!
