Aeroplan

November 16th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

I don’t know if I’ve gone on about this before, but I have to gush about
Aeroplan cards. I think they’re fantastic. I can’t go on enough about them. -
Every- time I fly on Air Canada or Tango, I just swish on past the 300 people
lined up to one of the (always available) kiosks, swipe my [...]

Give an idiot a camera…

November 16th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

This is why I have no right to criticize anyone’s photography for a while.
What you’re seeing here is not a giant black fuzzy monster coming out of the
alley, but rather, my thumb.

*so embarassed*

The day you try to make a movie….

November 16th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So, I have the video camera, I have my storyboards, I have actors, I’m ready
to go out and film a short, and WOOSH! A fog rolls in.

So I’m going to do some laundry and hope it’s a bit clearer tomorrow
afternoon. Rotten weather. *mutter* Someday, when I build my weather
machine…

The end of the the world as we know it.

November 15th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Science magazines everywhere are jumping on the Core bandwagon,
publishing bits and peices about our imminent polar shift with less and less
information and more and more sci-fi speculation. This is the sort of thing
we saw with Armageddon, when suddenly everywhere on the news was talk of
incoming asteroids and the end of civilization.

If you want your daily [...]

Happy camper?

November 14th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

It’s COLD in Winnipeg! -20 degrees celcius and dropping. BRRR! I took a
picture of myself on the way to work this morning, so I could share my misery
with you all!

Beleive it or not, I’m trying to smile in this picture.

How many So’s?

November 14th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

I just noticed that I’ve begun a whole pile of blogs with “So”.

Pretty weird, eh? I wonder just how many I’ve begun that way.

Flagrant Copyright Infringement

November 12th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So, if I just happened to rest some magazines on my flatbed scanner, and lean
on the scan button like -so-… and then somehow articles about The Core FTP
themselves up to my site… is it my fault? Can I be held responsible for
such an unlikely and convenient string of events? Oh, hey, look. There’s
articles scanned out [...]

Chaos and Destruction

November 12th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So I’ve been on a one-man wrecking spree the past few days.

I was microwaving a late-night snack in the office the other night when I was
called away to check on a network render that was failing, and when I got
back my co-workers were in a panic around the smoking remains of my bagel. I
spent a [...]

Not enough pictures

November 10th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So, I’m tearing my site all apart and re-building it on a new webserver in
the next few days, and I’ve been putting quite a bit of thought into what I
want this site to be, and where I want to go with it.

I’m open to some suggestions… to be honest I still haven’t decided what I
want [...]

A little Zen humour

November 7th, 2002 · No Comments · Uncategorized

So, there was a very dark and moody Zen Calendar haiku tidbit the other day,
that goes like this:

Vast solitude
My thinning body
transparent autumn

The funny (???) thing about it is that to this day, looking at it sitting in
my pile of discarded calendar days, I still misread the last line
as “Transparent ALUMINUM.

This sends me into spasms of [...]
