Western Canada Aviation Museum

Before we left Manitoba, I had a chance to finally visit the Western Canada Aviation Museum, a huge hangar full of really fantastic and well-cared-for Canadian aviation equipment, from bushplanes to fighter jets. I took a memory card full of pictures of aircraft bits – all of those open jet engines are gold for a person with a macro lens.

Getting a personal tour isn’t much more complicated than showing an interest, there are a bunch of enthusiastic guides who want their visitors to get the most of the exhibition. Ask a couple of questions, and suddenly you’ll find yourself getting a tour through the interior of the display planes. The place is full of iconic Canadian aircraft, I managed to sneak pictures of me next to a couple of great ones.

I had a blast! If you like airplanes, you have to treat yourself to a stop by the hangar!

I’m glad you had a good time there. Stephen’s father works at the aviation museum helping put together the displays. If I had known I could have gotten you a super in-depth tour of the place complete with lots of really great stories. Maybe next time you’re in town :o )
