Colliding Particles

April 25th, 2009 · No Comments · Review

There’s a really cool documentary series called “Colliding Particles” being filmed around the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider – you remember – the particle smasher that was supposed to suck us all into a black hole last summer according to the doomsday predictions. (The good news is that pie on either side of the event horizon tastes delicious!) The filmwork is really stunning, especially considering the dry subject, and I find the science and descriptions of the experiments easy to understand, even though they’re really astoundingly complex and over my head.

They released a new webisode today that I thought was worth sharing – definitely worth it to visit the site, sign up for the updates, and watch through the previous episodes from the start. They’re short in length but full of interesting content.
