I’ve been working my way through my brother’s PS2 game collection in my spare time. A few weeks ago I started playing “Lego Star Wars”, which I had some apprehension about (it sounds like a ridiculous idea), but I put it in my playstation to amuse my cousins, and discovered that it’s really fun! The levels are interesting and fun to explore, there’s more playable characters than I’ve ever seen in a game, some fun puzzles to solve, and the multiplayer implementation is by far the best I’ve ever seen. Two Jedis fighting side-by-side with a Gungan sidekick – the game version of events is actually more satisfying than the film.
(Probably because the lego JarJar never talks)
The pace of the game is quick – it’s broken down into 17 levels that I can play through in about 20 minutes each, so I can squeeze a game in before Natasha gets home or the dishes need doing.
There’s lots of unlockable content and earnable rewards, as well, which I find really satisfying to go hunting for. Some of the rewards (ie: “True Jedi Status”) seem designed to only encourage the truly obsessive compulsive, but the vehicle kits and character unlocks show up at a pretty rapid pace. (with 56 characters to unlock over 17 levels, you start picking them up in hordes early on)
Two thumbs up! Really enjoying this one.

Lego Star Wars is one of the best multiplayer games ever. The one based on episodes 4-6 are the best, IMO. So fun.

Kathryn and I both really enjoy that series as well. The Indiana Jones and Batman spinoffs are quite good too, and after a long day at the office its nice to play a simple game where you are rewarded for smashing everything in sight

You know, it never Ran in my PS2 because I bought the first model and the laser deconfigured. I finally got to play it on the Nintendo DS. Yeah, it’s a freakin awesome game.
