I’ve got the “Power-Cord Aint Properly Supplyin Juice To The Internet Router Bluuuues”. Or more specifically, “The Reds”. Two nights ago the power light on our 2Wire router went red, which according to the manual means the power adapter is shot.

It seems like just a plain vanilla 6 volt DC power adapter – which begs the question – if the power cord is broken, where is the red light getting it’s electricity from? I suspect maybe the adapter is doing something fancy to the frequency of the electricity or something and that’s somehow stopped. (???)

Bell is sending me out a new wall wart, which should arrive today or tomorrow. (Or, given our past track record with Bell, it will show up six weeks from now in a fisherman’s net in Brisbane) Hopefully this will be the last of the posessed electronics in our house for a while. I think I ought to invest in a bunch of UPS devices and surge suppressors.
