We took a visit downtown to the opening of the “Crystal Gardens” in Confederation Park, and in Winterlude tradition, opening week was uncharacteristically balmy and warm, dripping with that sense of fleeting impermanence usually reserved for cherry-blossoms and sand mandalas.

Natasha and I headed down to Confederation Park to check out the ice carvers working on their tasty sculptures for Winterlude. When we caught them, they were still 9 hours away from finished, but many of them tasted nearly done. I’m looking forward to going back to lick the final results!
